A Stray is a Helper who has escaped or been abandoned by their owner.[c3p8] They are common in Atom City, and many of Miss Fortuna's former coworkers are stray Helpers.
The villainous Hamilton Smith-Rawnsley claims strays are the result of humans who can't handle the "responsibility" of owning other people.[c6p9]
