Isabelle Delores Monday is a performer at O, Fortuna and a member of the Pioneer City Resistance. She is the deuteragonist of Pandora's Tale.

Relations

Pandora

Isabelle is Pandora's favorite person ever. This is due in part to Pandora imprinting on Isabelle, and likely partly because Isabelle is the first human to treat Pandora as a person and not property.

Isabelle, in turn, loves and cares for Pandora. Pandora gives Isabelle determination to fight against Monopolith. Isabelle is very quick to come to Pandora's defense, as well as quick to trust Pandora. Isabelle also tries hard to help Pandora learn to navigate the world.

Despite her programming, Pandora is sometimes able to do things for the resistance against Isabelle's wishes. Moreover, Pandora sometimes gets frustrated with Isabelle.

Con Yung

Isabelle and Con appear to be close friends. Con calls Isabelle an idealist, Con appeared happy to see Isabelle getting along with Pandora, and Isabelle was quick to confide in Con about Pandora.

When Isabelle wanted to go out with Zufolene and Tallulah, she entrusted Con to watch Pandora. Con worried Isabelle would be angry that Con let Pandora do something dangerous, a fear which was ultimately justified.

After Isabelle learned that Pandora is expected to have a short life, Con was able to console Isabelle, reminding her why the resistance fights.

When Echo called Con "darling," Isabelle was amused.

Hemmel

Isabelle works with Hemmel in the resistance. Hemmel was also diligent in trying to make sure Isabelle got paid. As of Chapter 9, we have seen little direct interaction between Hemmel and Isabelle.

Natalya Ustrashkina

Isabelle works with Natalya in the resistance. Natalya has a crush on Isabelle.

Noor Shah

Doctor Shah is Isabelle's doctor and Resistance buddy. Doctor Shah wants Isabelle to stay out of trouble, and she warned Isabelle of the challenge involved in caring for Pandora.

Isabelle was shocked when Doctor Shah and Pandora told her about Helper lifespans, and Doctor Shah tried to console Isabelle. Doctor Shah was also angry at Isabelle when she found out Pandora shot someone, though Isabelle denied responsibility.

Isabelle had enough trust in Doctor Shah to bring Pandora to see her both for endocrine health and for therapy.

Veronica Fortuna

Isabelle has worked for Miss Fortuna since Isabelle was 19, and Miss Fortuna thinks of Isabelle as her protege. Miss Fortuna explains what Helpers are to Isabelle, and she reassures Isabelle when Isabelle is overwhelmed by finding Pandora.

Zero Angiers

As of Chapter 9, we have seen very little direct interaction between Isabelle and Zero. Isabelle appeared excited when Zero found Pandora's delivery drone, and the most visibly horrified of the gathered resistance members when Zero suggested selling Pandora on the black market. Zero is indirectly responsible for Pandora imprinting on Isabelle, as Zero found and hacked Pandora's drone, and said the gas it contained was harmless, forgetting to warn Isabelle that it causes Helpers to imprint upon the first human they see.

Trivia

• As of Chapter 9, Isabelle is one of only two characters to appear in every chapter, along with Pandora.
• In the Pandora's Tale Book One Character Tournament, Isabelle easily made it through her first two matches. In the third round, however, Isabelle ended up in a three-way match with Pandora and Dr. Shah, and a tie-breaker technicality led to the elimination of both Isabelle and Pandora.
• In the 100th Thinking Too Much to Think Positively comic, Isabelle could tell she was drawn in full color.
• Isabelle has always wanted to do something with wings.
• Isabelle is bisexual.
• Isabelle does not consider Arbor Day to be particularly important holiday.
