Hamilton Smith-Rawnsley is a former patron of Veronica Fortuna and one of the richest people in the sector containing Pioneer City^[2]. He spends most of his time out of sector^[3].

Hamilton owns three Helpers: Andromeda, Cassiopeia, and Leo^[4]. He keeps them locked in a single room ^[5] which they are never allowed to leave^[6]. He does not visit this room very often^[7]. He claims he is so busy he barely gets to see his Helpers, in spite of the fact that his "job" seems to involve throwing parties at his house^[8].

Smith-Rawnsley is fully supportive of the institution of slavery, and he claims it is "sad" that some Helpers manage to escape to freedom^[9].
